Yolanda Suarez was born in Colombia; South America has lived in Tampa for the past few years. She has studied watercolor, oil, and pastel painting with well-known artists and teachers in Colombia and USA. Her figurative and expressionist style is characterized by her vivid use of color. She was one of the winners from the first calendar of “Alianza Hispana”, a finalist for the second, and a winner again for the third with her artwork “The fishing”. Yolanda was the winner in the 2008 Florida Tomatoes National Art contest. In 2009, the winner of the Westshore Banner Contest. Her painting “Exodus” was selected as a cover for Mrs. Jeffra Flaitz’s book: “Understanding your refugee and immigrant students”.
From 2010 to 2012 has made several exhibits in Tampa and Sarasota

Natural de Colombia, Sur América, ha vivido en Tampa durante los últimos años. Estudio diferente técnicas: acuarela, oleo, acrílico, pastel, etc. Con conocidos profesores de arte en Colombia y Estados Unidos. Su estilo figurativo y expresionista se caracteriza por el fuerte uso del color en sus obras. Fue una de las ganadoras del concurso para el primer calendario de la “Alianza Hispana”, finalista en el segundo concurso y nuevamente ganadora en el tercero con su obra “La Pesca. Su pintura “Éxodo” fue escogida como cubierta para el libro de la profesora de la universidad USF, Dra. Jeffra Flaitz: “Understanding Your Refugee and Immigrant Students”. Ganadora en 2008 del concurso Florida Tomatoes a nivel nacional. En 2009, ganadora del Westshore Banner Contest.
Del 2010 al 2012 ha hecho varias exhibiciones en Tampa y Sarasota.
