About Diana Posada
Diana, a native of Medellín, Colombia, is a contemporary digital photographer and artist with a background in traditional photography.
During her formative years, she acquired an interest in taking pictures. Diana’s father, an amateur photographer himself, observed her natural ability and talent and enrolled her in photography classes. Although Diana has been an artist since childhood her formal training began in 1987 at the age of 20.
Diana attended the world-renowned Technical Institute of Arts in Medellín, Colombia, South America. While there, she earned her certification as a professional technician in advertising photography. Her extensive training in photographic art was also nurtured at the Academy of Photography in Colombia and the Active school of photography in Mexico D.F. where she added to her studies and sharpened her skills.
In addition to her educational goals, Diana’s career as an artist is both extensive and diverse. Before owning her own graphic design company, she worked as a freelance graphic design artist and photographer for several companies and well-known magazines. Although Diana’s business ventures were exciting and successful, as well as educational, her passion and true love of photography reined supreme and Diana left all behind except her camera. Her desire to take pictures and the support and encouragement of friends and family provided a foundation and afforded her the opportunity to pursue a full-time carrier in photography.
Yes, Diana owned a successful graphic design company, but her lifelong dream of being a full-time photographer went unfulfilled. “My passion was always shooting to create and to give shape to my feelings.” Therefore, she turned her part-time hobby into a full-time career!
Continuing to grow, as an artist is Diana’s life goal. Therefore, she is enrolled in Photo Painting classes since 2005 (a cutting-edge technique in photography) with two recognized North American portrait artists, Fay Serkis and Jeremy Sutton. Diana affirms, “ I am very excited about this, I have always looked for a technique to combine my painting skills with photography, and because of this innovative technique, it has given me a new dimension to expression and create the best and most beautiful way to give soul to memories. “As Diana so eloquently states her art “gives soul to memories” and inspiration to all of us.
“IF PHOTOGRAPHY IS THE SOUL OF MEMORIES,
PHOTO PAINTING IS A MASTERPIECE OF THE SOUL”
